The New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier clubs, is seeking a Day Camp Assistant Counselor at the Travers Island property located in Pelham, NY.
The candidate for this position will be a part of the Winged Foot Day Camp team and will assist with supervision and care of their assigned group.
The Winged Foot Day Camp is the perfect opportunity for children of members to gain a full camp experience, take advantage of the world class facilities at Travers Island, and create memories to last a lifetime.
Campers will participate in several sports, creative arts, theme days, and off campus field trips.
Job Description and Responsibilities Assist with developing, supervising, and participating in camp-wide programming activities with campers of different ages Create a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment for campers Enforce safety rules and regulations of the Club Be able to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, campers, parents/guardians Be flexible to meet changing work needs and demands Attend pre-camp training in June 2024 Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience working with children Must be 18 years or older Pass NYS and national background checks Transportation to and from Travers Island required Be available 40 hours per week during June-August 2024 Excellent communication skills and ability to work on a team Possess effective customer service skills Demonstrate responsible and professional conduct Be open to feedback and desire to grow professionally Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately Job Types:
